AREQUIPA (AREQUIPA/ COLCA/ PUNO)

This tour is for travelers who don’t have much time, yet still want to explore the Western Andes as much as possible. The Colca Valley and Canyon, considered one of the deepest in the world and the territory of the Condor, a great mythological Andean bird. Watching their majestic flight (sometimes right above your head!) will be an absolute highlight of the trip.

DAY 1. Our tour begins at 7am, driving through the national reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca, where we’ll have the chance to spot vicuñas, llamas and alpacas. Then we’ll continue on to the highest point of the tour at 4910 meters, making a stop to admire the volcano viewpoint and part of the Western mountain range, before descending to the town of Chivay (3650 meters) for lunch, with an optional walk in the afternoon. Overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 2.  After a pleasant breakfast, it will be time to enjoy the great landscape of pre-Inca terraces in the Colca Valley, heading towards the viewpoint of the Condor Cross to enjoy the flight of this majestic Andean bird. Then we will return to the town of Chivay for lunch before continuing on to the city of Puno (6 to 7-hour jourmey), enjoying the beautiful scenery of the plateau with some stops along the way. Overnight stay at the hotel.
