CHUCUITO / ACORA MARKET (weekend) / ISCAPATAZA / CHARCAS / UROS

•  Duration:  1 day

This is a new tour, aimed at interaction with the Aymara culture and landscapes of the region.

Pick-up from the hotel at 7.00am to visit the Temple of Fertility. According to the local folk tales, if a woman sits there, she will soon become a mother. Continuing on our way, we will soon arrive to the picturesque Acora market (only Sundays), there we will see the different typical products of the region, such as the diverse and colorful women’s dress. Shopping here should be an interesting experience, as bartering is still very much practiced. Later on, we’ll enter the lakeside region passing through different communities, and we’ll have the opportunity to stop and learn the way of life of the Aymara settler.

Typical lunch in the community of Iscapataza (quinua or “chayro” Soup + “huatia” + muña tea). On the way back, we’ll drive through Santa Rosa and Charcas Beaches.

At about 3.00pm, we’ll board a boat to visit the Uros Floating Islands, where we’ll learn more about the local pre-Inca techniques.
Return to the hotel around 6.00pm. Night in Puno.

Includes: private transportation, official guide, tickets, box lunch, hotel in Puno.
