DAY 1.- CITY TOUR

Our visit begins in the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral with its hybrid architecture, then we’ll continue to one of the most important landmarks of the city, “Koricancha”, built by the Inca Pachacútec and which has become the Santo Domingo Convent. Later, we’ll continue to the San Pedro Market, which was designed by Gustave Eiffel. Wandering around this quirky local market will allow you to witness more of the local lifestyle, along with a mouth-watering variety of products from the high Andean area. Overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 2.- SAQSAYHUAMAN/ CHINCHERO/ MORAY/ MARAS/ OLLANTAYTAMBO

Today we’ll start the day at 7.00am to visit the archaeological site of Sacsayhuaman, which boasts inexplicably clever engineering dating back to the pre-Hispanic era. Then on to the town of Chincheros, where the community of weavers will perform a demonstration of the century-old handmade dyeing and weaving process. We’ll then take a walk around Moray, an archaeological site that was once a botanical laboratory, before continuing on to the salt mines of Maras (declared a UNESCO heritage) where the salt collection is still performed in the same century-old manner. Overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 3.- OLLANTAYTAMBO/ PUMAMARCA/ AGUAS CALIENTES

After a big breakfast, we’ll go over to the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo, which is likely to surprise you with its ancestral architecture. We’ll then go to Pumamarca, surrounded by a stone wall, from here begins a descent walk to Ollantaytambo for an exquisite lunch of Pachamanca “earth oven”, this is an Inca tradition of preparing food with very hot rocks and buried. Train to Machu Picchu village. Overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 4.- AGUAS CALIENTES / MACHU PICCHU / CUSCO

Perhaps the most eagerly awaited day has arrived! Your tour will begin early in the morning with a bus trip up to one of the most important archaeological sites in the world, Machu Picchu. Known as the lost city of the Incas, it is today considered one of the seven wonders of the world. After exploring, it’ll be time to return to Aguas Calientes for lunch and finally return to Cusco. Overnight stay at the hotel.
