CUSCO/ HURQUILLOS/ MACHU PICCHU

DAY 1.- CUSCO/ SAQSAYHUAMAN/ CHINCHERO/ AGUAS CALIENTES

This morning begins at 7am, when we’ll set off to visit the archaeological site of Saqsayhuaman, which boasts some truly inexplicable engineering of the pre-Hispanic era. Then over to the town of Chincheros, where the community of weavers will perform a demonstration of the century-old handmade dyeing and weaving process. You’ll then walk along an old Inca trail called “Hurquillos”, a path little traveled by tourists. Indeed, after a 4-hour tour through winding trails between mountains, you will have reached the community of Hurquillos which is part of the Sacred Valley of Urubamba. The transportation will pick you up for the transfer to the train station of Ollantaytambo, and then over to Aguas Calientes. Overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 2.- MACHU PICCHU/ CUSCO

Perhaps the most eagerly awaited day has arrived! Your tour will begin early in the morning by bus to one of the world’s most important archaeological sites, Machu Picchu, known as the lost city of the Inca, and today considered one of the seven wonders of the world. After exploring and undoubtedly much photo-taking, it’ll be time to return to Aguas Calientes for lunch and finally return to Cusco. Overnight stay at the hotel.
