The Mejía Sanctuary was created in 1984 and designated as a RAMSAR site, with the objective of protecting endangered flora and fauna; this place is ideal for nature lovers, especially for bird watchers. There are more than 2000 kilometers of desert where boreal and southern migratory birds arrive to rest before continuing their journey.
