This tour will take you through a large part of Bolivia and its extremely varied landscapes and its high plateaus in the Amazon forest, from the Salar de Uyuni to the tropical valleys of the Yungas. A wonderful adventure which we would highly recommend.
Desaguadero / La Paz / Rurrenabaque – Madidi Park / La Paz / Uyuni / La Paz / Cusco
Morning departure to Desaguadero, along a road which offers some superb views over Lake Titicaca. After crossing the Peru-Bolivia border, you will continue crossing the bolivian plateau: first you will reach the Tiwanaku archeological site, which used to serve as a political and spiritual center for a civilization which preceded the Incas. You will visit the Sun Gate, these 1000-year-old enigmatic ruins, the Kalasasaya Temple as well as its museum.
El Alto, home to a million inhabitants located at an altitude of 4000 meters, before descending into La Paz. Return to La Paz in the early afternoon.
Free end of afternoon and night at the hotel.
Airport transfer to take off to Rurrenabaque.

Early morning departure by boat on the river Beni. Entrance to Madidi National Park, one of the parks with the largest biodiversity in the world. It takes 3 hours to travel along the Beni River and Tuichi

After lunch, why not rest in the hammocks under the tres? In the afternoon, walk through the forest to observe wild animals such as monkeys, deer, mountain pigs, capybaras and a large number of birds.
After dinner, nighttime walk to hear the sounds of the forest and to observe some nocturnal animals.
Night at the Lodge.
After breakfast we will set off towards the forest until we reach Caquiawara, a steep clay rock where parrots nest. This will also be a perfect viewpoint for birdwatching.

In the afternoon we will either go fishing on the Tuichi river or on the lagoon in the middle of the forest.
In the evening, time to take advantage of the Tuichi river!
Night at the Lodge.
Morning walk through the forest to learn about the medicinal use of some of the thousands of plant species. We will be able to participate in the harvesting of palm seeds, with which we will make rings and other crafts. Return to the Lodge.

We will then have some time to rest before our departure to Rurrenabaque by canoe.

In the morning, transfer to La Paz airport to catch a flight to Uyuni. You go on a SUV excursion on the famous Salar de Uyuni, one of the most extraordinary natural curiosities on the planet, which will be the high point of your trip to Bolivia.
After a visit of the train cemetery of Uyuni, you go to the village of Colchani, located at the edge of the Salar, which lives from the exploitation of salt. Then the SUV will cross the Salar for nearly 80 kilometers to Incahuasi Island.
From the top of this “island” there is an exceptional view of the whole Salar and the mountains that surround it. You will enjoy a picnic in this unique setting and will be back in Uyuni at the end of the day. Night at the hotel.
You will fly to La Paz in the morning, where you will be taken to check into the Rosario hotel. A city tour of La Paz is then scheduled for the afternoon. The Bolivian capital stretches out over a unique setting: a steep, colorful valley between an altitude of 3200 and 4000 meters. In the bottom part of the city, the natural site of the “Valley of the Moon” is formed by hundreds of spindly pitons, cleared away over time by the erosion. You will then be taken to the Kilikili viewpoint, from which you’ll have views over the whole of La Paz, after which you’ll visit the historical center, including the Murillo square which is home to the presidential palace, and the Sagarnaga area where the famous “witches’ market” takes place. Night at the hotel.
