This two-week tour will allow you to discover Peru’s most extraordinary sites, from the astonishing desert and coast where the Nazca civilization developed to the sumptuous landscapes of the Andes that protect the vestiges of the Inca cities, passing through the Colca Canyon, Lake Titicaca and the magnificent and colonial cities of Cusco and Arequipa.

LIMA – PARACAS – AREQUIPA – COLCA – PUNO – CUSCO – LIMA

Arrival at the airport, we will be welcomed and taken to your hotel nestled in the modern and safe district of Miraflores.

Generally on this first day of your tour, there is no scheduled activity because flights usually get into Lima in the evening. But if your flight arrives earlier, a visit of Lima can of course be scheduled for the first day.

Lima is much more than the capital of about 11 million inhabitants, it has both modern charm and rich historical constructions. We will visit the colonial center before discovering the modern and wealthy neighborhood of Miraflores. Lunch.

Later on, departure by first-class bus along the coast towards the coastal city of Paracas where we will arrive late in the afternoon.

Overnight stay at hotel in Paracas.

In the morning, we will embark to the Ballestas Islands, where the sea lions, cormorants, pelicans, boobies, the Humboldt penguin among other species are protected.

First-class bus trip to the hotel in Nazca. In the afternoon, excursion to Palpa and its geoglyphs. Less known than the Nazca lines, these figures were drawn over1000 years ago. On the way, we will have the chance to climb an observation tower to see two figures belonging to the Nazca lines.

Overnight stay at the hotel.

In the morning, if you wish, we will have the option of doing the half-hour flight over the Nazca lines in order to see them in all their glory and mystery (optional, not included in the indicated price).

In the afternoon, journey to Arequipa by first-class bus. Arrival in the evening and transfer to the hotel in the historic center of Arequipa.

Optional: if you do not wish to fly over the lines, you can also visit the Chauchilla cementery with its pre-Hispanic mummies or the aqueducts of Cantayoc.

Day dedicated to the discovery of Arequipa, the second city of Peru and the most pleasant stop on the tour, located between the coastal desert and volcanoes, at an altitude of 2300 meters (which is ideal for acclimatization purposes).

In the morning, guided tour of the city, its colonial center with the monastery of Santa Catalina, the monasteries of the Company, the San Camilo market, the neighborhood of Yanahuara, and Carmen Alto’s viewpoint over the city and its three volcanoes. Free afternoon to enjoy the charm of the city.

Overnight at the hotel.

You can replace this visit of Arequipa with a rafting excursion down the river Chili or a Peruvian cooking class.

Morning departure to the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest in Peru and the world, famous for its condors.  We will drive through the Aguada Blanca reserve, where we will see llamas, alpacas and vicuñas and climb up to 4910 meters of altitude, the highest point of your trip in Peru!

We will then descend to Chivay, in the Colca Valley, for lunch (not included). In the afternoon, you can take a short walk and take advantage of the thermal baths (entrance fee not included, approximately 4 US$).

Overnight stay at the hotel.

Early in the morning, we will follow the Colca valley up to the Cruz del Condor, where a magnificent view over the depth of the canyon with 1200 meters is offered. A magical place where condors fly over this part of the canyon with an incredible landscape.

In the afternoon, we will take a tourist bus to Puno, crossing a good part of the Andean plateau and arriving in Puno at the end of the day, on the edge of Lake Titicaca. At 3800 meters of altitude, Puno is the highest stage of your trip.

Return to Puno and overnight stay at the hotel.

Departure in the morning to Cusco by tourist bus. We will make several stops on the way: Pukara, where a high plateau civilization that preceded the Incas developed; and La Raya (4370 meters), where the region of Cusco begins. Lunch. After lunch we will have the chance to visit the Inca temple of Viracocha and Andahuaylillas, a charming town that protects one of the most beautiful churches in the region. We will arrive in Cusco at the end of the afternoon. Overnight at the hotel in Cusco.

It is also possible to make this journey by train, but we would recommend taking a bus, which is faster and allows you to make interesting stops along the way.

As the capital of the Inca Empire, Cusco is one of the unavoidable wonders of any trip to Peru. In the morning, drive up to Cristo Blanco which dominates the city of Cusco. From there we will discover one of the most impressive Inca constructions, Sacsayhuaman, where the stones of a colossal carving are intertwined with astonishing precision. The descent towards the city will be done on foot, walking through narrow and steep streets of the beautiful neighborhood of San Blas, then through the walls of the ancient Inca palaces and the famous 12-angle stone. Next will be a walk over to the main market of Cusco where we will be able to breathe in the Andean identity and culture of this city. You’ll then have a free afternoon to enjoy the charm of the city at your own pace. Overnight stay at the hotel.

This day of your Peruvian adventure will be dedicated to the discovery of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. In the morning, tour of the Inca site of Pisac, one of the larges in the region, as well as its famous craft market. Lunch. In the afternoon, we will visit the Inca village of Ollantaytambo and its fortress.

Overnight stay at the hotel.

This is without a doubt the most awaited day of your trip in Peru: the discovery of Machu Picchu. We will depart early in the morning by train, following the Urubamba River, to Aguas Calientes (now called Machu Picchu Pueblo), from where the bus will take you up to Machu Picchu. Rediscovered a little over a century ago, this Inca city maintains its mysteries and continues to exert a fascination over everyone who enters its citadel. A few hours on the site will allow you to discover its main hideouts, and eventually climb up to Huayna Picchu. Return by bus down to Aguas Calientes for lunch and then by train to Ollantaytambo in the afternoon.

Transfer and overnight stay at the hotel.

Departure in the morning by private vehicle to the town of Moray. On a plateau overlooking the Sacred Valley, we will discover the astonishing agricultural and concentric terraces of the Inca era. Very close by, the salt flats of Maras, offer a spectacular landscape of thousands of salt ponds which are still exploited by hand to this day. Visit of the village of Chinchero, dominated by a beautiful Spanish church, built on an ancient Inca site. Return to Cusco.

Free afternoon and night at the hotel.

There is nothing like a free day to finish off your trip smoothly and enjoy this magnificent city of Cusco, whether it be to walk through its small streets full of charm, discover museums about local history, shop at colorful craft markets, eat at restaurants near an Inca wall, or simply feel the unique Andean atmosphere of this city.
