Get to know the hidden treasures of Northern Peru, along with a large collection of pre-Inca pieces and their large buildings, before finishing off with the great Machu Picchu in Cusco and a beautiful view of the Rainbow Mountain.

Pick up and transfer from Lima airport.

Overnight stay ata  hotel in Miraflores, the cultural center of Lima and the safest and most vibrant district of the city.

  • A driver from our agency will be waiting for you at the airport with your name on a sign.
  • Your hotel room will be available from noon. If you wish to access your room immediately upon arrival, we will need to book the previous night.

08:00 AM. The tour of Lima will begin with your guide. First we will explore the neighborhood of Miraflores, followed by the “Parque del Amor”, facing the Pacific Ocean, the colonial center with its stunning cathedral, as well as the presidential palace and the church of San Francisco and its chilling catacombs.

Lunch and transfer to the airport to fly to Jaén, then transfer to Chachapoyas.

– The entrance fee of 15 soles (about 4.3 USD) is not included, and will have to be purchased upon arrival in San Francisco.

Arrival in Jaén, transfer (2 hours) and dinner at your hotel in Chachapoyas.

6:00 Departure to Kuelap to take the electric cabins. This pre-Inca fortress, 700 meters long, stands on a prominent rock and has 12 meter-high walls. Its beauty and the extraordinary 360-degree views it offers make it one of the main archaeological sites in Peru, comparable to Machu Picchu. For many, this is undoubtedly the highlight of this tour of northern Peru.

Lunch in the city of Tingo.

Visit of the funeral “Chullpas” in Revach. For adventure lovers, the beautiful landscapes of the region also offer several optional hikes which are off the traditional beaten track. 

Return to Chachapoyas at the end of the day.

Another excursion not to be missed in this region is the Gocta Falls. This river falls through a crater of 770 meters, which makes it one of the highest waterfalls in the world. A tour from the town of Gocta will take you to the foot of the waterfalls, through the region’s dense vegetation, where you can also see the world’s only “spatula tail” hummingbird, an endemic bird. A roundtrip walk takes about 5 hours. We will also have the option of renting a horse and you can pay the local people directly. Lunch.

In the morning we will visit the royal tombs of the Lord of Sipán in Lambayeque. The discovery of the tomb of the Lord of Sipan and its goldsmithing treasures is considered the most significant of the last 50 years in Peru.

Visit the pyramid complex of Tucume, as well as its museum. 

Lunch in the city of Lambayeque.

Return to Chiclayo.

Departure to the museum of “La Señora de Cao”, a place with very interesting pieces of this pre-Inca culture, governed by a woman, whose tattoos you’ll be able to spot on her remains. Later on, we will visit the Moche Sanctuary in the Complex, a pyramidal building with its finely decorated walls. 

On the way to Trujillo, we will stop in Huanchaco for lunch, a typical beach with the “Caballitos de Totora”, a type of boat built one thousand to three thousand years ago. We will then have some free time to paddle in the Pacific Ocean and enjoy the sunset.

Night in Trujillo.

After breakfast, departure to the main archaeological sites of the Mochica and Chimu civilizations, the most important of the Peruvian northern coast. The Huaca de La Luna and Huaca del Sol were pyramids that were embellished with multicolored low-relief soil murals.

Lunch in Trujillo.

Visit of Chan Chan, the largest adobe city in America and the second in the world, which was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986. Later we will visit the central part of Trujillo with its beautiful houses.

Return to the hotel in Trujillo.

Morning flight to Lima.

Arrival in Cusco in the afternoon, transfer and overnight stay at the hotel.

Food not included. 

This day will be dedicated to exploring the Sacred Valley of the Incas. In the morning, we will visit Pisac, one of the largest Inca sites in the region, as well as its famous craft market.

Lunch. 

In the afternoon, we will visit the Inca village of Ollantaytambo and its fortress.

Overnight stay at the hotel in Ollantaytambo.

The great day has arrived, the moment you’ve been waiting for: the discovery of Machu Picchu!

In the morning, we will take a train along the Urubamba River to Aguas Calientes, where a bus will take you up to Machu Picchu. We will then visit one of the wonders of the world, and see with your own eyes how the beauty of the Inca constructions blends in perfect harmony with its surrounding nature.

The bus will take you back down to Aguas Calientes, where we will take the return train back to Ollantaytambo.

Transfer from Ollantaytambo to Cusco.

Overnight stay at the hotel in Cusco.

We will set off very early, in order to arrive at the community of Hanchipacha in time to have breakfast. We will then start trekking for 3 hours approx. up to the rainbow mountain (most of the way is uphill). On the way up we will enjoy incredible landscapes of herds of alpacas and llamas, the Ausangate mountain, red mountains and traditional local houses. When we finally reach our goal, the Rainbow Mountain at 5,020m, we will have time to explore the area and take pictures to your heart’s content. 

We will then descend to the beginning of our trekking point, which will take approximately 2 hours, then lunch. Return to Cusco.

  • An entrance ticket worth 15 soles (about 5 USD) is not included.

Nothing like a free day to finish off your tour and enjoy the beautiful city of Cusco at your own pace. You can stroll through its charming streets, explore some history museums, go shopping in the various artisan boutiques or enjoy some traditional Peruvian food in a charming little restaurant. Cusco offers a perfectly typical but cosmopolitan Andean backdrop for your farewell to Peru.

Transfer to Cusco airport to take the flight back to Lima.
