PUKARA / LAMPA

Located 104 km. north of the city of Puno, this archaeological center dates back to around 800 B.C. and consists in a series of buildings of truncated pyramidal shape, as well as superimposed platforms in the Kalasaya pyramid. We’ll also visit the site museum, where the totality of the area’s vestiges can be found. This site is also well known for its manufacture of the Torito de Pukara, the bearer of good luck and abundance.

To end this visit we will go to Lampa, the Pink City with its church and catacombs, a replica of “La Piedad” by Michelangelo, as well as some valuable paintings belonging to the School of Cusco.
